SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE

The Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship Program

Tuition assistance from Pfizer Hemophilia

Patients and families in the hemophilia community face challenges that extend far beyond treatment. That's why Pfizer is committed to advancing the lives of those in the community with unique support programs and resources. Our scholarship program is one of them, and is designed to inspire deserving students living with hemophilia to achieve their educational goals.

In 2000, this scholarship program was renamed to honor Soozie Courter, a valued and respected friend of the hemophilia community who passed away in 1999.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have either hemophilia A or hemophilia B and be a high school senior, have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) credential, or be currently enrolled in an accredited junior college, college (as an undergraduate or graduate student), or vocational school.

For the 2013-2014 academic year, Pfizer Hemophilia will award $50,000 in scholarships to students in the hemophilia community:

  • $4,000 graduate school scholarships for 5 individuals
  • $2,500 undergraduate college scholarships for 12 individuals
